Do you know how to receive? Kurt Owen keeps coming back to that question as he teaches healing as something people learn to take hold of, not just hope for. His claim is direct. The power of the Lord can be present in your life, even present to heal, and you can still leave without receiving. In his reading, that is not because God is holding back. It is because New Testament scenes keep showing people acting, asking, reaching, leaving the house, and cooperating instead of sitting still and blaming God. Owen pushes hard on the easy excuse. If God simply healed whoever he wanted without any response, why did the woman with the issue of blood press through the street? Why did Jairus show up? Why does Scripture keep showing people moving toward Jesus if receiving never asks anything of the person who needs healing? Then he brings it closer. The power of the Lord can be right there in the room, he says, and still nobody receives when people refuse to yield or cooperate with God. Ministers do not get a pass either. Owen challenges preachers who blame God when people remain sick, because his point is that presence and reception are different things. He names four pressures in any healing moment: you, God, the devil, and the people around you. Only one is perfect. So why does the perfect one get all the blame when failure can come from the other fronts? The episode ends with Owen praying that listeners recognize God's love, yield to the present power of the Lord, and receive what Jesus wants to do in their lives.
