The Catholic Morning Show - 04/10/2026

April 10, 2026·58 min·5 clips
A former devout Muslim describes crying for an hour straight after being baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Church.
Friday begins in Easter light. Deacon Mark Campbell, filling in for Beau Bonner, settles into the show's morning rhythm with Brady Grimm and Aidan Pugh. The pace stays brisk. Sports-show banter shifts into an Alleluia antiphon, parish life, and the promise of a conversion story. Mohamed Karmie is the focus. He had just been baptized and received into the Church at the Easter Vigil the previous Saturday night. His story starts simply. After moving back to Osceola in December, he went looking for a Catholic church and found St. Bernard's. The church was locked. Outside, he saw Father Thomas doing yard work in shorts and did not realize right away that he was the priest. Then Father Thomas came running over. Karmie remembers their first conversation stretching for two hours and feeling less like a process than a friendship. That made a real difference. Coming from an Eastern religious background, he says Father Thomas understood how hard it can be for Muslims or Hindus to accept Christianity. The challenge was personal, not abstract. Karmie names real consequences and describes being shepherded, discipled, and held by the hand through it. Formation took time. What feels close in memory was, as he says, a two-year process that led to the Easter Vigil. The show keeps its local shape, moving from prayer to a rosary walk benefiting InterVisions Healthcare and a conversation with Bethany Klein. Mercy closes the hour. Campbell sends listeners into the weekend confident in Christ's mercy and love.
