Ferroni Jones is trouble immediately. The table brings him in through pure improv: not fully a character yet, more a fireman calendar fantasy with suspicious confidence. Everyone piles on. Mr. February turns into a status symbol, a dating credential, and a joke about getting stuck in the shortest month. Even the name refuses to sit still. Feroni, Ferroni Jones, first name confusion, all of it becomes part of the same ridiculous build. Then he becomes useful. Someone points out that a strong fireman can stay nearby and carry people if things go bad, and Ferroni accepts the job like it is standard professional practice. That is why the bit lands. He treats obvious nonsense as practical wisdom, then announces his skills with complete sincerity. His quads are not great, which somehow makes every heroic boast better. Then the gear economy blows open. A plus five Vorpal Sword comes out of the swamp, and the table immediately starts asking whether Joe is really going to allow that. They call him out with affection, framing the moment as OSR looseness at its funniest: sometimes the wild answer is better than the careful one. The swamp gets just enough history to keep moving, with an ancient elven war tossed in as the reason. Warwick still matters too, since the weapon swap raises the practical question of what happened to his old weapon. Nobody tidies the scene up. It runs on interruptions, callbacks, and trust that an absurd fireman and an impossible sword can still push the adventure forward.
