The hook comes in sideways. A kindergarten sits inside assassin chaos, and the recap treats that setup like a totally normal school tour, which makes it even dumber in the right way. Then Rita shows up. She is powerful, flaky, romantic, and weirdly picky, so Jim and Luke can bounce between character read and running joke without getting too settled. The shovel gets its moment.
