Inner Hoe Uprising

Every episode opens the same way and never sounds the same twice. Sam introduces the show as being about sex, love, and dating from the perspective of one Black, non-monogamish, non-binary feminist hoe in New York City, then hands half the floor to a rotating co-host. A throuple interview handles the logistics of three people and the difference between jealousy and compersion with equal seriousness. Politics is never bracketed off. Cold opens mention genocide, record heat, and unemployment before the topic even starts, and one recording lands on an election day with a guest telling listeners to vote. The humor is broad and self-aware, the profanity frequent, the vulnerability real. Guests plug books and steer buyers toward independent bookstores rather than Amazon. After ten seasons the show announced its final run, counting down episodes and asking listeners to leave voicemails with their favorite moments to be played on the last one.
