About Strength For Endurance Podcast

Strength For Endurance Podcast is a practical endurance-training show with a strong coaching spine. Its central concern is simple: how athletes keep improving without repeatedly breaking down. The episodes move across running, riding, multisport training, and ultra-distance preparation, but the recurring lens is strength, load tolerance, recovery, and lifestyle fit. It talks to motivated athletes who may already know what they should be doing and still struggle to make those behaviors stick. That gives the show a useful honesty. Good intentions are not treated as enough. Strength work has to fit the week. Nutrition has to support the output. Recovery has to be watched before it becomes a problem. The show often returns to individualized programming, pushing against one-size-fits-all plans based only on ability level, race distance, days available, or target pace. Injury history matters. So do stress, health markers, mobility, single-leg strength, fueling habits, and the amount of load a body can actually absorb. Episodes on bone stress injury and low energy availability make that especially clear, framing performance as something built from small, repeatable behaviors rather than dramatic short-term pushes. The coaching style is conversational and direct. It can circle a point several times, but the repetition usually serves the same purpose as a coach repeating a cue until it changes behavior. There is also room for personal reflection, including lessons from a first 100km event in Australia and the demands of hot, undulating terrain. Guest material broadens the frame. Bernadette Dancy brings stress management and heart rate variability into the conversation, while still emphasizing trends, questions, and context over device scores alone. The show is strongest when it connects ambition to responsibility. It wants athletes to push, but from a better-informed place. For runners and endurance athletes managing busy lives, old injuries, and big goals, it offers steady, grounded guidance on making training sustainable.

Made for: Runners, riders, and multisport athletes who want to train seriously while managing injury risk, recovery, nutrition, and busy lives. It especially suits athletes who prefer practical coaching detail over hype.

What sets it apart: The show treats endurance performance as a whole-system problem, not just a mileage or pace problem. Its recurring emphasis on personalization, injury history, stress trends, and follow-through gives it a more applied coaching feel than a standard training-talk show.
